About Absolutely Bear:
Absolutely Bear is a British casual menswear brand who champion sustainable fashion through the use of natural fabrics, classic designs and ethical factory credentials. A young brand making great strides towards being a fully sustainable company.
Fair Pay and Good Working Conditions:
Absolutely Bear works with suppliers in Bangladesh and India who are members of the Fair Wear Foundation, an NGO that works to support workers’ rights and fair pay. Their knitwear is made by a family-run business in Leicester, UK.
Sustainable / Organic Materials:
Their organic cotton products are made from 100% organic certified cotton that is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) accredited. Their knitwear is made of merino and British lambswool.
Animal Welfare:
Absolutely Bear use British lambswool and merino in their knitwear designs, although their wool supplies are not yet certified as guaranteed museling-free. Their range of T-shirts, polo’s, sweaters and hoodies are PETA vegan certified.
Packaging:
Their swing tags are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper, which has EU Ecolabel certification and are in the process of adopting string ties as opposed to plastic ties.
Their mailing bags are made from fully-recyclable plastic and will soon be adopting kraft paper bags once the current stock has depleted.
They are in the process of reviewing current alternatives to their plastic garment bags with a view of moving towards biodegradable options in the near future thereby eliminating the final piece of non-degradable plastic from their packaging.
Social Responsibility:
They donate 10% of their profits to charity partners; Become, who work with children that have been in care and the Born Free Foundation which works to protect vulnerable animals around the world.
