About Sop

Scents of Place (Sop) is a Norfolk-made bodycare brand, inspired by the local landscape and language. They are vegan and cruelty-free. Created by the Nor–Folk.

Fair pay and good working conditions

Sop manufactures have been selected due to their aligned values. As well as being located in their home city, both have been in business for several decades. Their production runs are small batches and they use ethical and trusted suppliers. The manufacture of their bodycare is approved under the Cruelty-Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty-free products. They adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor their suppliers to ensure that their products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Their manufacture supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.

Sustainable / Organic Materials

Sop products are always cruelty-free and vegan. Contain no GM ingredients, parabens, SLS, silicones & mineral oils, artificial colours or fragrance and no palm oil.

Sustainable Practices

Sop only work with local suppliers for manufacturing. Their products are made within a 5-mile radius. They use fair-trade products, organic where possible.

Animal Welfare

Sop products are vegan and cruelty-free, that is their promise and their fabrics only use vegetable inks.

Sustainable Packaging

Their bottles are aluminium, which are infinitely recyclable. They offer customers the opportunity to purchase reusable, optional plastic pumps. Their packaging is cardboard and biodegradable and their mailing bags are recycled and biodegradable.

Social Responsibility

Sop photography features a friend of the founder as the model and the imagery is minimally-edited. Their processes are responsible – driven by diligence and sustainability, rather than the bottom line.

Community and Charity Contributions

Their charitable partner is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. They aspire to one day become a B Corp company.
